4 types of techniques to do in mitt practice assuming actual battles.

① Elbow strike ② Knee kick ③ Low kick ④ Punch

~Here’s the text~

In full contact karate, mitts are practiced to increase striking power.

In solo practice, we sometimes practice using the Sandbag.

This time, I will delve into the following four techniques that should be done in Ashihara Karate.

① Elbow strike

② Knee kick

③ Low kick

④ Punch

First of all, I would like to make a note of caution, but since it is only an actual battle scenario, it does not assume a contest.

4 types of techniques that are useful in actual combat

I will explain why I chose these four types in the first place.

One of the karate books that influenced me,Late Kancho Hideyuki Ashihara In his book “Karate ni moe,Karate ni ikiru (Burn Karate, Live Karate)”,

It says, “There are five techniques that are useful in actual combat: punches, elbow strikes, knee kicks, low kicks, and headbutts.”

I commented when Late Kancho was teaching mainly for police officers.

I think it’s very rational, and I’m using it as a base for mitt training.

Elbows, knees, and head are hard parts that humans are born with without training.

If they hit cleanl, that’s a lot of damage.

Learn how to use the body to make a clean hit and the timing of the impact.

However, I removed the headbutt.

The reason is that my brain shakes, so if I do too much because it can have bad effects.

Especially for growing children I don’t think it should.

Punches and low kicks are essential for offense and defense at short distances.

In actual combat, offense and defense at short distances are essential,I don’t use flashy moves like high kicks because the gap is too big in actual combat.

① Elbow strike

There are many ways to do it. From the side, from the top, from the bottom, etc.

All techniques are assumed to hit the face.

② Knee kick

A knee that swings around like a roundhouse kick, a knee that thrusts forward, etc.

The number can be doubled.

As an impact, if you imagine kicking the body of the person holding the mitt instead of the surface of the mitt, you can striike a stronger knee kick.

③ Low kick

Since there are many patterns, I will describe practice examples.

Single kicks, double kicks, kicks that break the inner thighs, kicks that break from the outside, etc.

④ Punch

These are also many patterns, so I’m just going to write it as a practice example.

Single punch, One-two punch, One-two three punch,One-two hook punch, One-one-two punch, etc.

Summary

This time, I introduced 4 types of techniques that should be done in mitt practice assuming actual battles.

① Elbow strike

② Knee kick

③ Low kick

④ Punch

Finally, I will introduce my favorite video.

It is a DVD “Karate Ichidai Sabaki Densetsu” that contains the techniques of Hideyuki Ashihara (Late Kancho).

You can see punches and elbows with superhuman speed.

Can’t see the trajectory of the technique.

I have never seen such movements in other martial arts videos such as boxing.
Not only is it fast, but it has a clear killing ability, just like a Japanese Sword.

I would appreciate it if you could provide some helpful information.
